Municipal Practice Group

In addition to acting as counsel to the Towns of York, Wells, Arundel, Shapleigh, Acton, Newfield and Greenville, the municipal attorneys at Bergen & Parkinson have previously represented many other towns throughout the State while at their former firms, including Sanford, Kennebunkport, Kennebunk, Alfred, Scarborough and Old Orchard Beach.

Our team members have all argued important land use cases before the State's highest court - - both for and against municipalities. The members of Bergen & Parkinson's Municipal Practice Group have many years of experience in drafting ordinances, negotiation of interlocal agreements, charter, labor and personnel matters.

Besides representing municipalities, we have substantial experience representing developers and individual property owners at the local and state level.

Durward Parkinson has edited a manual widely used by governmental officials on land use issues, and has lectured widely on this subject.
