Staff

Our support staff, many of whom are well established in the community, consists of a group of individuals that have extensive knowledge, experience and skills in all phases of the legal field. They create a warm, friendly and professional office atmosphere, are team oriented and are dedicated to assisting us in serving the needs of our clients.

Administration

Linda Rhines is the Accounting Manager at Bergen & Parkinson. Linda has over 30 years of experience in business accounting and human resources management, including nine years as the Business Manager for an environmental consulting firm in New Hampshire. Linda joined the firm in 1998 as the Office Administrator until becoming the Accounting Manager in 2003.

John Sweeney is the Firm Administrator at Bergen & Parkinson. John has almost 30 years of experience in the legal profession, including seven years in Washington, D.C. Prior to joining the firm in 2003, John worked for over 14 years as a litigation paralegal in the York County office of a large Portland, Maine law firm. John is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) and currently serves as President of the Downeast Chapter of the ALA.

Paralegal

Diane Ames is an experienced probate paralegal who has been with the firm since its inception, specializing in estate and trust administration and taxation issues. Prior to joining the firm in 1998, Diane worked for a New Hampshire law firm for seven years, first in the area of real estate and then in probate and guardian/conservatorship administration.

Bonnie Daigle is a paralegal in the firm's Estate Planning and Probate Practice group, where she concentrates on probate and estate administration matters. Bonnie has a strong and varied background in the legal profession. Prior to joining Bergen & Parkinson in March 2007, Bonnie worked for several years with a local title company.

Rebecca Engle is a probate paralegal in the Estate Planning and Probate Practice group. Rebecca’s experience includes Social Security and public benefits, elder law, estate and trust administration, and protective proceedings. Prior to joining Bergen & Parkinson in 2003, she worked at several reputable law firms in Portland, Maine. She has previously served as a family mediator and volunteers with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine.

Joan Hunnewell is a litigation paralegal with over 20 years experience in the areas of real estate, corporate, residential and commercial transactions, as well as bankruptcies, foreclosures and collections. Prior to re-joining the firm in 2009, Joan was the Agency Representative for a title insurance company in Portland.

Robin Johnson is a real estate paralegal with over 30 years of experience in the area of residential lending. She also has experience in commercial and corporate lending. Prior to joining the firm in 2000, Robin worked for several years at a local law firm and bank in the real estate department.

JoAnne Wilson is a real estate and corporate paralegal with over 20 years of experience in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, corporate, title insurance, title search review and abstracting. Prior to joining Bergen & Parkinson in 2001, JoAnne worked in a New Hampshire law firm as a real estate paralegal and coordinated its real estate department.

Support Staff

Kathy Berry is a legal assistant to Susan Driscoll in the firm's Litigation practice group. Kathy joined Bergen & Parkinson in March 2006.

Michelle Cote is a legal assistant to Leah Rachin, Tom Welch, Earle Patterson and Jon Bangs.  Michelle joined Bergen & Parkinson in October 2000.

Judy Desrosiers is a legal assistant to Christian Barner in the firm’s Estate Planning and Probate practice group.  Judy has been with Bergen & Parkinson since the firm started in 1998.

Jennie Kane is a legal assistant to Wes Crowell, Larry Walden, Scott Edmunds and John Kugler in the firm’s Real Estate and Business Law practice group.  Jennie joined the firm in the fall of 2005. 

Wendy Letellier is a receptionist with the firm and has been with Bergen & Parkinson since 1999.

Barbara MacCormack is a legal assistant to Bruce Bergen and Milda Castner in the firm’s Estate Planning and Probate practice group.  Barbara has been with the firm since 1998.

Charlene Romanos is a receptionist with the firm and has been with Bergen & Parkinson since February 2002.

Kristi Stanley is a legal assistant to Durward Parkinson in the firm’s Litigation practice group. Kristi has been with Bergen & Parkinson since August 2009.

Dawn Morse is a legal assistant to Wayne Adams and Kelli Gardner in the firm's Estate Planning and Probate Practice group.  Dawn joined Bergen & Parkinson in February 2010.

Bergen & Parkinson, LLC was founded in 1998 by a group of experienced practitioners with the idea of providing superior quality legal services in specialty areas associated with larger law firms yet with the personal attention and friendliness of a smaller firm.
